trouble shooting my homelite 240?

Unable to start my homelite 240. Just changed the spark plug and the oil gas mix is right. Any tips for trouble-shooting?

Use wd-40 and spray into throat of carb---be sure to use WD-4O IT HAS AN OIL BASE AND WILL NOT HURT CYL.--- IF IT FIRES THEN YOU KNOW YOU HAVE A FUEL PROBLEM--I ASSUME YOU'VE ALREADY CHECKED FOR FIRE. IF IT FIRES ON THE WD-40 THEN YOU NEED TO CHECK THE FUEL FILTER IN THE FUEL TANK IF ITS OK THEN THERES A SMALL SCREEN INSIDE THE CARB THAT PROBABLY NEEDS CLEANED OR CHANGED----REBUILD CARB---
