what is the orange light with the engine sign on a j reg cavalier ? as the light is on all the time and the revs are up on my car

There are a lot of people with vauxhalls ( and some other cars) having similar problems with engine management lights coming on during Feb. It seems a CO2 sensor is damaged and the general opinion is that bad fuel is to blame ( Tesco seems to be one of the main fuel suppliers)
