reverse light not working on my fiesta 1996 nreg?

Hi can anyone help i have a ford fiesta n reg 1996 and the reverse light doesn't work i have checked the fuse and the bulb they are both ok does anyone have any idea what it might be.

It could possibly be the reversing sensor switch attached to the gear box. This switch could be faulty or the wire attached to it as broken free. These switches can be replaced. They simply screw into the gear box body.
