Strimmper head is not turning at full power , only ticking over ,regardless of how much you rev. the engine , wont cut anything

Does it have a clutch? if it does, it may be the clutch slipping resulting in less then usual power.
If so, just tear it apart and replace the clutch plates and other parts connected to it.
I may be wrong, so please check before relying on my advice.
