the knuckle on my gear selection is worn?

hi my ldv pilot ,1998, 1.9D, has i very sloppy feeling gear box, some one told me that there is a small plastic knuckle/ring at the bottom of the gear stick and when it wears out it make the gear box feel really loose? could this be the case?

just had a look and the selector yokes bush is gone, the yoke looks fine, says in the manual that the bush is bronze cased in plastic and is held in place by a snap on clip.think if i get of these and fit it, it should sort it because the yoke looks fine! i'm enterprise daf are just out to make money!!

been told by daf that i need a new yoke and i'm looking at 80 quid, but my local garage has said it needs a bush ?

Sounds like it mate. The rods with the nylon knuckles are around a tenner from LDV

found out that its the bottom and side bushes on the gear selector.
