How can I fix the indicators?

Recently my Fiat Punto SX55 is not indicating when i apply the brakes. What is this and can I do this myself.

i have the same problem - removeing the rear light cluster (two fastners) and cleaning the connector solves the problem for a short while

takes about 5 mins to do both sides
