you should have a engine number on the shaft and then phone johnson them selves. Fuel of a ratio of 100 - 1 is so week that it wouldn't matter if you should be putting in only unleaded

i have a johnson outboard motor and my ignition needs to be changed but i need to know how to fix it. I can't figure out how to get the old ignition out. The cover won't come off so is there a bolt that i might be missing.

There must be a serial or model number on it somewhere, go to the Jonhson web site or try searching the web with the make and model number. I'm sure you'll find it. Don't try to start it if you don't know if it is a 2 or 4 stroke ad you will trash it if you don't have any oil in the petrol if it's a 2 stroke, if it's a 4 stroke it will be a bit smoky!!
