Why are plugs for a Polo so expensive ?

I have an X reg(2000) VW Polo 1.4E and want to do a home service; oil change, spark plugs etc. A set of plugs for this model are over £55 in Halfords ! Why ? Are they gold plated or something ?

I found it cheaper to use NJK plugs and change them every 6,000 miles . Just ask in an auto factors for the equivalent type. they are about £4 each

we had the same problem with our golf, your best bet is to buy from the internet far far cheaper than any shop...try ebay!!!!!

That be the Halfords mark up mate, try going else where for your parts or search on the internet. I have found that my local motor suppliers A.R.E far cheaper.
