how can i fix my renault megane?

my gearbox speedo cable was hanging off and now my speedo not working.How do i replace the cable. It is a 1,4 renault megane 1997.

if its cable take the dash of and follow the lead and simply replace / if its electric then just swap the wires of sensor ( or just bodge it )
