I have never done a gasket on the diesel but have on the Petrol and that took a couple of days. I do however know that on the diesel the chances of just the gasket having gone is slim, it is more likely that the head has cracked as well. Once you have the head off take it to a machine shop and have it checked thoroughly. There is a guy that specialises in these cars and you can find his info at www.estimaownersclub.co.uk
