epson r300 stopped recognising cartridges?

my Epson R300 printer has stopped recognising the cartridges and therfore no longer works. Any clues please?

seen this problem once before after a firmware update from the internet. Try this, replace all the cartridges in one go , turn off and then back on again. Hope this helps
