The fuel & temp gauge on my 1995 2.4d VW T4 Transporter only works occasionaly. It only affects the fuel/temp gauge, NOT the clock, speedo or the warning lights.
I suspect a bad connection, i have had the instument panel out but can't find any thing wrong.
PLEASE HELP IT'S DRIVING ME MAD!

I have fixed it now!
just after putting this question on i went surfing & ended up at the vw owners club, www.vwocgb.com
go to "TECHINCAL"
then go to "T4 Transporter Gauges"
All the info required to fix.

I had the same problem on my 1st T4,
Take the panel off again and check for a poor soldered joint at the three legged thermistor/thyristor I cant remember which.
If this item is damaged you can get a new one from RS components or radio spares shop.
