how can i fix my hitachi plasma 42pd5000 tv?

I have mains power 240v going to the unit, but no indicator light comming on. The plasma is 2 years old and it was working last night, but now nothing at all?????

Can anyone help?

This is a well known problem and occurs on all 42PD models once they reach 12 months old and above.

It is invariably Resistor R003 or R005 on the main power supply board. These are 10 ohm 5 Watt resistors (one is a fused resistor at 5A) but replacing them with 10 ohm 7-10 watt devices usually fixes the problem.

I have a Hitachi 42 PD7200, same problem, the board had to be replaced, a two year old unit. They said always turn off to stanby first before turning off the unit by not doing so you fuse the board
