start with basics u have antifreze mix coolent to the corect level ,i stress antifreze cos it stops boil up , is the rad cap seal good , look at it pull /poke the seal ias it perished or good, squeez the rubber hoses wen cold they should be squoshable, when hot the system will presureize , the hoses will go stiff if all is normal, look in frount of the rad. is anything blocking incoming air flow - cardboard / carrierbags luv toblo up and get stuck ere .shine a torch through the rad. from one side to the other there shouldent be anything bloking. if there is get the hosepipe out and squert through do not use hi presure jet wash ilt reck the core of the rad. if u still have problems after this u have a flow problem , is the coolent rusty / dirty in colour ? if so buy some rad flush from a car shop ,folow istructions to the leter ,if this doesent work the thermostat is jaming or the coolent pump has gon or theres a major blockage . any garage worth its salt if there doing cylinder heads would flush the engin ,check the pump flow and fit a new thermo stat as standard , yo may want to go back to where the work was done but then maybe not.
