How to get you out a fix.Through the grape vine.'1998' megane
Put ignition on and hold the door lock button on dash in until the flashing light on the dash(alarm light) flashes 4 times then release, hold again 8 flashes then release, again hold for 8 flashes and release then 2 flashes and release. Then press the door lock button in lock then open position and car has deactived the immobiliser. But you will have to continue this until every time you need to start the car, but its saved you money. Hope it works for you,it did me. gogs

Hi did anyone get this sorted as i have a 1997 megane with the same problem Renault say it will cost approx. £500 to replace the whole immobilizer set up???

Hi I am currently having the same problem on my 98 megane, the only way around it is a rip off from Renualt involving having the car towed to the dealer and having the key re-coded. I have been told there is a manual over ride you can keyin but Renualt will not give it to you, I went to the dealer with all my documents but to no avail. You have been warned!
