You haven't really put enough information here, however. I suggest that you download a Hardware Maintenance manual for your model of ThinkPad (you don't say which it is) from www.lenovo.com. (Lenovo own all of IBM's PC assets now.) Then work your way carefully through the diagnostic procedure. If you get stuck put a new post on here.
