The CD drive on my Dell Inspiron 1300, tsst cd/dvd+-r/rw drive, TS-L532, won't play or burn CD's or any software, but plays and burns DVD's, any ideas what is wrong?
I'm having the same problem. The drive works perfectly with DVD's of all kinds but won't read or write to any CD media. I've updated the firmware to the current version also with no change. This was never a problem before. Any help?

The CD laser. Try a cleaner. If that doesn't work change the drive.
