My DC04 cuts out after 2 minutes of vacuuming, and i have cleaned the filters and had it in bits... but no joy.. When the hoover cuts out i have to turn off for 5 mins to get it on again.

mine is doing the same but apparently there is no such thing as a cut out on the dc04 model?

Thermal protective cut out on the motor, either it has become rather sensitive or your motor is overheating.
I wouldn't buy a Dyson for the fact that people have advised that they are not the best in build quality and reliability. Although they do a good job, can you really justify the money when they only last around 2 years.
