MY SAT NAV SAYS CAN NOT READ DISC OR IT JUST SHOWS A PICTURE OF A DISC SPINNING WHEN IT IS TURNED ON I HAVE RUN A LENSE CLEANER THROUGH IT BUT THIS HAS NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM

I'm afraid this sounds like the usual car player CD reading problems. Disk head cleaners are useless at best and destructive at worst. Occasionaly a strip down and proper head clean can help, particularly if your car's a dusty environment. The usual cause however is gradual failure of the laser head unit, involving a rather expensive replacement. It's probably cheaper, as someone else has suggested, to just to buy another sat nav.

i have the same problem i have got a 03 reg peugeot 406 and when i try and use the stanva it either says disc unreadable or disc not insertes could any one help me on this ?

I had allot of trouble when I first purchased my 607 3 years ago,it kept telling me I was in Paris,after changing the unit in the boot and half a dozen visits later,it worked out it was a bad earth.But to get it going they had to send for a setup disc that should of been with the car,they then ran that,then nav disc for the UK,everything ok.Hope this helps you out,Because I know how much it can p*ss you off,good luck.

I have had my 607 for almost four years. When the three years warranty expired the coloured sat-nav threw up the same problems. On looking into the problem on the Internet it appearers to be quite common. Every now and then the sat-nav will kick into life then throw up "wrong disk inserted please change disk". I priced a repair and found out it would cost £600.00 so I just purchased a small one for £150.00 which works better.

I had the same problem on my 406, I removed and dismantled the reader and carefully cleaned the lens - reads the disc ok now but I have another problem, the GPS is approx 3 miles out.
