How to release the bonnet on my astra 1.8 sport ?

The cable release has stretche on the bonnet release and will not open the bonnet, any idease on either how to fix it or to replace the cable ?? Thanks !!

Have you tried pulling the front grill off carefully so you can release the bonnet and replace the cable.
