What does "Wrong disc" mean?

I have the Trutech T600 D dvd player. When I insert a disc it says wrong disc and won't play. What does that mean?

try cleaning the disc . If the player hasnt been used for a while has the player got condensation in it. This solution cured mine. check the area number of the disc
