Free motion foot - skips stitches?

When I have my free motion foot on my Singer Ingenuity 7436 it skips stitches.

Unfortunately that can happen, it is one of those odd things where there is no explanation apart from lack of pressure on the foot, if the machine is missing stitches on normal sewing then you have a problem
