My three year old Diplomat dishwasher does not clean anymore?

Anything obvious I need to do instead of calling out a repair man?

The obvious thing is to mention WHY it doesn't clean any more. Is it dead? Is there water going in? Does the motor turn? Does it get hot? Does it blow the fuse? Are there any lights on it? Does it sound different? Has it got dirty filters? etc. etc. etc.
