The inner drum does not spin round. The fan belt has been replaced, at least the outer one, but the drum still doesnt spin. What is wrong with the machine and how can it be fixed?

The dryer will probably have a long belt that encircles the entire drum, goes around a tensioner then goes to the motor pulley. You need to ascertain which is at fault - the motor or the timer switch. Another possibility is the overheat switch has closed things down, but this isn't very likely.
