The battery on my Daewoo Matiz SE (99 reg) was replaced yesterday, and now the radio wont even turn on. I returned to the garage to explain this, and they said I need to get the PIN number from a dealership. But if the radio wont even turn on, surely I wont even be able to enter the PIN once I get it.

Can someone explain to me how the whole process works.

First I would check the fuse. Digital radios have to have power at all times to keep your clock working,your preset stations stored,etc. If its not the fuse check to see if they didn't hook up the hot wire. Sometimes people run them off the battery & maybe it just didn't get hooked back up.
