Brown bags from store are good. you may have to use lots of them if the spill is large. When done if some color remains you can get wax remover at Dental Lab. Test unseen place to make sure it don't melt your carpet.

place a piece of brown parcel paper on top and place a hot iron on
the paper, this will melt the wax and the paper will absorb it.
