loose connection?

I have a pair of GHD straightners and there seems to be a loose wire into the connection. The red light comes on and off, so they will work and then stop... so they can be repaired...but how? anyone got any advice how i can repair them?

Usually with these it is a worn swivel connection. If it is no too bad you may be able to clean and retension it. Otherwise it will take someone in the know to sort it.

The likely answer to this one is that the wire inside the cable insulation has fractured due to the constant flexing that these things get. It will be possible to replace the cable, more than likely but the whole handle will have to be split to allow access.
