Can you change the fused plug on a ghd to a unfused Australian plug?

I want to change my Irish ghd plug to an Aussie plug but the Aussie ones are not fused is this ok?

If you do the GHD thing will still work but it will not be fused. If a fault develops the styling wand might overheat - and burn the house down and YOU would get the blame.

Probably best and safest not to.
