adhesive strip on Certainteed landmark shingles?

I just had new Certainteed Landmark shingles installed and notice that the black strip of adhesive(Underside of shingle) that is visible on the outer edges if the roof appear to have a clear film over them. Did my contractor make an error in the installation. TIA, James
