You can normaly remove the centre of the knob to reveal a nut to lift off the gear knob, if that's not the case you can normally screw the gear knob off, other than that the complete gear stick has to be changed, failing that if you want to replace the gear knob with your own, you could saw the gear knob off below yours to change it and fix it with epoxy resin. - Brian
