How can I fix Hotpoint WD420G?

Machine spins, but does not seem to reach 1200 spin and during wash cycles fails to complete all programs. Drum does move and will spin at its lower spin

Sounds like a problem with the motor driver or "module" board. It sounds as if its only supplying half power to the motor - substitution with a known good unit is the only practicable method of diagnosis. check out www.2ndwave.co.uk/manual.html
