I have an old Miele Novatronic W919 WPS(it must be around 20 yo)

I noticed a fault when I set it to spin only and it only wanted 1 minute instead of the usual 7 and went to zero without spinning at all.

I got around the problem by setting the spin speed to a higher number but I suspect there may be a problem with the software

Is it possible to just fit a new "motherboard" and does that sound like an expensive job for a Miele engineer?

I am loathe to buy a new machine but might I need to prepare for that possibility?

before you callout anyone perhaps have a look at the motor brushes. At 20 years old they should be worn out by now. AND so long as the machine pumps out well AND so long as the air trap is not blocked up it should be worn out motor brushes.
