I know that Windows XP has a firewall built in. How can I use this?

i have norton internet security on my computer but that is not free and it is extremely good, you will also need a cd and a lot of money (not to be mistaken with norton antivirus).

yes the firewall that comes with xp is rubbish i find zonealarm the best

Don't bother, it doesn't work very well. There are much better ones available for free, just do an internet search for firewalls and select the one that sounds best to you. I use Zonealarm.

H P, follow these instructions….
Click your Start Button > Settings > Control Panel.
Double-click on Network Connections.
Right-click on your connection icon. Select Properties.
Select the Advanced Tab.
Click on the option box (make use it is ticked.) Click Okay.
Disconnect your computer from the internet. Start your connection again.
