Front loading Asko washing machine has started squeaking when washing?

Front loading Asko W6011 washing machine has started squeaking when washing. It doesn't do so when spinning. Would think it is dry somewhere and needs oiling but manual no help. Noise is annoying but more concerned something is wearing.

In my W6761 the squeaking, which happened during wash and spin, turn out to be the motor bearings. Motor not longer turned freely, neither did tub because of it. I oiled the bearings - will see how long it lasts. To remove motor, remove back panel, unplug connector on motor, undo 2 long bolts (nuts on other end, 13mm), take out motor. Snap off cover for encoder and lift off encoder to access bearing on commutator end. Pretty easy repair to just oil bearings. Bearing is 6201. Cheers and good luck.

Hi there

The squeaking during wash phase is possibly caused the grease in the v cassette seal being washed away with age.

This seal is located behind the drum shaft and prevents water from entering the bearings.

Due to the lack of lubrication within the seal, the v grooves squeak as they rub against the cartridge cover.

Will possibly need drum to be removed and seal and bearings replaced to fix the issue.

It's a big job to fix unfortunately.

possibly its the belt - doesnt need lubricated, but may be an indication of wear. Take off back cover, clean belt and grooves in the pulleys with methylated spirit.
