Scantronic 9448 tamper fault?

During a recent power-cut the alarm system failed with a tamper fault. the key-pad wasn't illuminated and I wasn't able to enter my code to silence. The battery failed which wasn't a surpise as it was about 6 years old.

I've now replaced the battery but the problem I have is the Tamper light is permanently on and I can't clear it. This has been the case since the failure.

Can someone please provide a simple step-by-step guide to clear this. There are no faulty cables.

As I said above the battery failed (it was old). This has been replaced.

Thanks
Tony

I have read through all the above notes on the alarm being in Tamper/Loop Mode.
Battery is new and just replaced, my four digit code is not removing the Tamper light but just bleeping once.

The Alarm will not reset itself to enable it to work correctly. Can you advise or assist in getting over this hurdle please. Thank you,

Thanks to all for your assistance. The problem has been resolved. I followed the instructions below and Tamper fault went away. I did however had to extend the door tamper spring slightly to ensure good connection when closed.

"This is a common problem, normally if you open control panel (2 screws) remove mains and battery (External bell should ring). After 20 sec reconnect mains and battery and stop int sounder using your code. Replace lid and screws enter your code again to clear the tamper indication.System should now be OK. You must be aware that if this does not work you may require an eng. 9448 has two tamper inputs bell and global. Before doing above make sure all device lids are on or contacts are ok, It may be your system sees a tamper or cut wire.Above will work if the tamper came up after an electrical storm."

Entered the user code numerous times. Every time you enter the code it gives a short beep. Nothing else. I've powered off the system , removed the battery and tried to bring each up at a time and for a brief period the light goes out during this sequence but as soon as you enter the code to silence the alarms it registers a tamper light.

have you entered the user code twice to reset?
