The dishwasher seems to be working by the sound of it, but when I opened it after the cycle, it did not fill with water and is still full of dirty items...HELP!! I have never had a dishwasher before and this was a second-hand one which was in good working order. Can I see all the internal parts in a diagram something may be missing.

I had same problem on an indesit. Check the water inlet valve solenoid.

Try removing the door panel and lower panels at front, on the left should be a hose just in front of the drain pump, it may be clogged with fatty foodstuffs, remove and clean.

If not then remove left side panel (two screws - nice and easy) see if any part of the water metering system is obstructed.
