hi i have a vauxhall astra 2001 model when turn ignition on and car is running there is ticking noise coming from fuse box when take mileage speedo fuse out it stops any help be very great full

I have a vauxhall astra 2005, on the dashboard where it shows your mileage it's not lighting up, so unable to see current miles etc could it be a fuse or bulb blown? and is it easy to fix. Thanks
