it says LOADING but then says NO DISC when there is one in it. I have cleaned the disc, left the machine off for a few hours and plugged it up again.

It may help if you slightly rest your hand on the disc player's open door when it is closed. Do it on the head of the door. Good luck! If it still shows just keep trying! It will work eventually! Also if the battery recharges, carry it without touching the battery.
