How can I fix my Hoover HSP-15 Washing Machine?

My Hoover HSP-15 over heats the water during any wash cycle going up to about 90 deg. How can I fix this please ?

First thing to replace is the thermistor (temperature sensor).
May also be a relay which is stuck in the on position and not switching the heater.
