what year and model is it, is it a eurocargo? if just a cargo-check for broken wire on alternator,[on daf 7.5 tonners they use alternator to complete wiring of ign circuit-so you cant restart when running ] just might be worth checking. have you checked for live to small feed wire on solenoid when key is turned.possibly a relay somewhere in system,

Check connections to starter solenoid. Assume battery is OK? Can you hear starter solenoid clicking when you turn key?
