kitchenaid mixer won't mix?

we were grinding hamburger and gristle we mised jammed grinder attachment. Motor now runs but nothing turns. This is standard mixer. How to take apart, and is there some kind of shear pin?? Model is K45SS Classic.

Had the same thing. There is a $15.00 or less nylon gear that strips. It is a rather messy and somewhat advanced repair to get to it, but I will provide details if you would like. It involves about 14 screws, driving out some pins, and should take an hour or so.
