My Whirlpool washer won't spin on the rinse cycle?

When the rinse cycle comes on, the machine fills with water, and it will agitate. However, when it comes time to drain the water, the drum will not spin. If I start the drum manually, it works otherwise the washer doesn't drain all of the water out.

The drive belt is probably loose. It also drives the other operations of the washer but when it goes in the spin cycle it reverses itself and it can slip if loose, then it doesn't spin. You can adjust the tension on the belt by adjusting the motor much like you would do on the fan belt of a car. Loosen the bolt on the motor and pry the motor over a little to take the slack out of the belt. The belt should not be able to be pushed in more than about a half or 3/4 inch.

Hello,

Do you hear any noises while it's supposed to be spinning?
