Sears Kenmore Model # 110.26832692. We ordered and received a new lid switch, but can't get the top of the machine open. Opened the back panel, and unplugged the bad switch, but can't get the top of machine open to access the switch.

try this, put a case knife about 4 inches from the side of the washer where the top meets the cabinet. slide the knife blade back and forth until you find a clip and then push in the clip while pulling up on the top of the top. there is two clips, each one is about 4 to 6 inches from the left and right edge. you will be working at the front edge of the washer.
