Sorry Paddy there is nothing you can do to fix it.
Your phone has been reported lost or stolen and has been blocked on all the the network.
Re-programming the IMEI number to make it work again is a criminal offence under the Electronic Re-Programing Act 2003 and anyone doing that could be subject to summary imprisonment (usually 18 month +) and/or level 5 fine(currently £2500).
I am afraid you bought a door wedge.
