How can I fix my hair straightener Revlon Stylix # RVO39F ? Red and white?

I purchased the Revlon Stlix straigthener in December 2007. Today I tried to use the Revlon stylix will not heat up but the light is on. How can I repair it? I have waited for about 10 minutes still no heat. I have tried other plug outlets and same thing light is on but no heat.

I have had my straightner about as long as u and it literally blew up today while I was using it. It popped and threw sparks and burned me pretty badly. I wanted to know how to get ahold of makers??

I am an electrician and one of our oporators brought in his daughters with the same problem. It has a wire burned off the board not sure if parts are abailable but may be cheaper to buy a new one.
