How do I stop my engine from running rough?

My engine runs rough at idle and low RPM. Seems to go at RPMs greater than 2000. I changed out the spark plugs and wires. There seems to be a lot of noise coming from timing belt.

If the engine sounds as if it is running on, say, 3 cylinders then it might be the coil pack. £37, held on by 4 star screws, easy to do yourself.
