Somehow i have background music (which a caller hears as he waits for me to answer fone) & I can't get rid of it. Anyone have any ideas? thanks in advance for your help.

I can only assume that you have Caller Tunes (which I have) which T-Mobile offers to it's customers. To remove it, you can either send a text saying "stop" to 454545 or you can call the number from your handset and follow the options. I think calls are 10p per minute.

If you change your mind later and like the idea of Caller Tunes, all you need to do is call the number back and follow the options!
