gearbox ford courier ute 85?

just bought a wreck for parts, the wreck is a diesel 85, will the gearbox fit my 86 petrol courier (both 5 speed), man i hope so or ive just blown 200 bucks

I highly doubt it, as the diesel engine and petrol engines have different blocks, which means a different bolt pattern.
Check for markings/tags on the gearboxes and see if they are the same. Might be as simple as changing the bellhousing, but I doubt it.
