I came to an abrupt halt recently and on restarting the engine noticed the car wasn't running properly and sounded different. There is also a lack of power and engine revs are down too. Don't know if a cylinder isn't firing or some other problem. Have tried to check as many connections as is possible and accessable. Any clues?

No, the engine management light doesn't come on at all.

Scot, is the engine manegment light on? as it sounds like the engine ECU has gone into "limp home" mode and the only way to find the fault is a diagnostic code reader.
