where to put gearbox oil?

do i need to refil the gearbox oil on my peugeot 106 diesel after changing the driveshaft, driver side, not abs. if so where does it go?

theres an acces plug on the front of the box about a quarter way up.i usually cheat by removing the speedo drive at the differential which gives much easier acces and pouring precise ammount in there.
